Orson Scott Card
Orson Scott Card was born August 24, 1951. He wrote the best seller Ender's Game. The idea for this book first came to him in high school. Orson Scott Card based the entire book off the idea of the battle room (a room to which there is no gravity and which the students had platoons and fought each other in). After he had published Ender's game it became a New York Times bestseller. Ender's game was the first science fiction book he had written. After Ender's game had become a success, Orson Scott Card became known for his thrilling science fiction novels. He is the only author who has won the top US science fiction award in consecutive years. Aside from writing his science fiction novels, Orson scott card is a English professor at Southern Virginia University.
